Petersfield’s premier musical event is an 8-day celebration of music-making with a local focus. True to the vision of its founders, the heart of the Festival is two choral concerts, where choirs from the area combine to perform the great works of the choral repertoire.
Orchestral music is represented by the thriving 60-strong Petersfield Orchestra, whilst we welcome celebrity performers on two evenings in the Petersfield Festival Hall. The Festival also promotes the singers, players and audiences of the future in its two popular Youth Concerts, which involve hundreds of junior and senior school pupils from local schools.
The Michael Hurd Memorial Fund, founded and administered by the Festival, provides funds to promote the development of young performers and composers in the Petersfield area.
For 2010 we are proud to welcome InSync Technology as our business sponsor. InSync is an established broadcast electronic product design company based in Petersfield, with the capability to manufacture and test complete high specification products and provide ongoing support.
