Festival of Young Composers 2011
The Michael Hurd Memorial Fund is again holding its prestigious competition for Young Composers. The closing date for completed applications, with scores, is 10 December 2011. Public performance and adjudication of the entries will take place on Saturday 4th February 2012 in The Studio at the Petersfield School. Selected winning compositions will be performed during the Petersfield Musical Festival at the Youth Concerts on 12 & 14 March 2012.

There will be three classes of entries:
14 and under
Composition under 4 minutes.
First prize £100
Runner up £25
16 and under
Composition under 5 minutes.
First prize £150
Runner up £25
19 and under
Composition under 6 minutes.
First prize £200
Runner up £75
All prizes are awarded in accordance with the terms of the Michael Hurd Memorial Fund for use only in connection with the furthering of musical studies.
