- Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of activities does the Fund support?
The Fund may assist with the purchase of music and instruments, provision of tuition or consultation lessons, support and encouragement of young composers, participation in master classes and workshops, etc. This list is not exhaustive and you may want to contact the Fund to make preliminary enquiries over whether particular activities might be considered.
How much can I apply for?
Grants will normally be in the range £50 - £250, and may represent all or part of the total cost of a particular activity or project.
How are grants decided?
The Fund’s Review Panel meets quarterly to consider applications, following which applicants may be asked for further information or invited to attend an interview, audition or both. Successful and unsuccessful candidates will be notified of the Panel’s decision, however where an application is unsuccessful the Panel will not, having communicated their decision, subsequently enter into any further correspondence.
Grants are reimbursed against expenses incurred, for which evidence by way of receipts etc. will be required. Award recipients will be required to report back to the Panel, within a specified time, on the progress and outcome of their project.
Who can apply?
Anyone aged 25 years or younger who has already begun musical training and shown an aptitude in their chosen field or specialism. Applicants need the endorsement of a sponsor who has specific knowledge of the candidate’s musical experience to date and their future potential.
