There are many ways for you to join in whether as a choir member, a Friend of the Festival, a sponsor or financial supporter or in the practical day-to-day running of the annual Festival and other events during the year.

Sponsorship and Support

The Festival is a registered charity and subsidises ticket prices through fund raising, the sale of advertising space in the festival programme, financial sponsorship from private individuals and grant support received from Petersfield Town Council and Hampshire County Council.

It is only through ticket sales and generous donations that the Festival has survived for more than 100 years, fulfilling its objective of promoting, improving, developing and maintaining the appreciation of music. Every year the Festival’s concerts span a range of music and ages rare in any other form of entertainment.

We would be delighted to welcome you as a Friend of the society: we also welcome one off donations and other corporate, family or personal financial support. Elsewhere on this website you will have begun to appreciate the value that your gift will bring to the community. Donations and gifts can also be made tax efficiently.

Help to run the Festival

If you would like to get involved with the organisation and presentation of the annual Festival, whether as a committee member with specific responsibilities or as a behind-the-scenes helper, then we would be very pleased to hear from you.

In addition to the society’s formal trustees and officers, there are others behind the scenes who work in support of them—the box office, front of house team, publicity and choir secretary are all aided in this way and it’s a great way to contribute in some small measure if you cannot offer a greater time commitment.

Help in setting up the Festival Hall in March each year is an area where a particularly useful contribution can be made, and the increasing age of some of our stalwart supporters makes the need for new recruits more acute. If you are more sales minded then we welcome helpers who can handle the sale of programmes and other front of house work.

We are also much indebted to the Green A Team, a highly qualified and award winning voluntary group who have for many years provided lighting and sound for events at the Festival Hall. They are always looking for new recruits, creating an opportunity if you are technically minded.

Get in touch with the Festival if you can help.
