Ralph Allwood MBE is one of the country’s most sought-after choral directors. For twenty-six years director of music at Eton College, he continues to direct the Eton Choral Courses, which he founded in 1980, and the Rodolfus Choir, made up of the best singers from the courses, with whom he has produced over twenty CDs.

Ralph is a founder and conductor of Inner Voices, a choir of singers from state schools in London. He is also director of music for the Old Royal Naval College Trinity Laban Chapel Choir in Greenwich and at Queens’ College Chapel, Cambridge.

Ralph has conducted choirs for forty live broadcasts for BBC Radio 3, is a judge for the Llangollen Eisteddfod and Cork International Choral Competition and has written much music heard worldwide on radio and television. He is choral advisor to Novello and to Trinity College, Oxford.

Opera Choruses, in The Oxford Choral Classics series, includes some of the best-loved moments in opera, from the moving finale of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas to the unforgettable melodies and dramatic scenes of Verdi and Wagner. With a varied selection of music, accessible English translations and soloists from the Rodolfus Choir, everything is in place for an inspiring and exhilarating day’s singing.

Bedales Quad offers excellent facilities. The school is two miles from the A3 and has ample parking. Tiered seating for the choir ensures good visibility for all. Lunch is available, provided by the school’s catering team, and the lunch break also provides an opportunity to view the school’s grounds.
